Poll: New Art Prints – Good or Bad?

So, I’ve got this fair coming up in a couple weeks and I’ll have a vendor table. It’s my first time doing this and I was only able to because the woman organizing the event was able to secure an extra canopy and table for me.

The issue is that I want to have plenty of items for people to look at and buy, if they’re interested. Having a table with 3 items isn’t particularly fascinating. Since I specialize in custom pet portraits, I want to offer all sorts of examples of my work.

I have 13 watercolor pencil paintings; 3 coffee paintings; 14 watercolor paintings; and 6 fine art prints. I’d like to add more prints to the collection and have begun creating digital paintings of pets’ profile silhouettes.

The nice thing about prints is that they are more affordable than original artwork. I can sell them for cheaper, which is great! I can stock them. Unlike original art, when one sells, there are more left over. Since they’re digital files, I can make edits, including potentially changing the colors.

But I want to make sure that this type of art is something that people will like. So, would you please glance at these and let me know what you think by hitting yes or no on the poll below the photos? And you can leave a comment if you have anything to add.

  1. I like these 🙂 The cat one is my favourite, and definitely something I’d nag my partner to let me buy haha!

I also like the idea of a reversal, so the background is colourful and the dog is a black silhouette, although maybe that would be more annoying to do?

    • Aw! Ha ha, thank you! I forget about that sometimes. I won an art contest with them back in 2013 (I think), so they started selling prints of my Babe collage and they did a little article on me. It was really neat!
